As an IT security manager, you could work for a variety of organizations, both governmental and private, by managing and supervising computer systems/software engineers, programmers and other staff. You would direct their staff to install and calibrate computer security and preventative software on a regular basis.³

  • MBA 650 — Operations Management or MBA 620 — Organizational Behavior (3)
  • MBA 656 — Data Protection (3)
  • MBA 657 — Compliance and Legal Issues (3)

Plus one of the following electives:

  • MBA 658 — Operational Cybersecurity Management (3)

Course Spotlight: MBA 655 Management Information Systems

Examine how information systems are developed and used in organizations to achieve business success and competitive advantage. Study technology as an enabler to support business strategy, define business models and provide for more efficient operations in both domestic and global business environments. Prerequisite: None.

Course Spotlight: MBA 658 Operational Cybersecurity Management

Develop skills relative to an understanding of the business risks that exist when proper cybersecurity access controls are not effectively implemented. Study breach cases and have the opportunity to interface with security experts to gain an in-depth understanding of current risks, threats and vulnerabilities organizations face. Complete lab simulations and analyze them for their meaning and purpose in increasing security knowledge. Prerequisite: MBA 656.

To apply for admission, you’ll need the following:

  • Completed application
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Admission essay (contact a program manager for more details)
  • Resume outlining academic and professional background and recognition, honors, and awards
  • Two recommendation letters from professional references
  • Three years of professional work experience (preferred)

The Admissions Committee may request GMAT/GRE score if more information is needed to make an admission decision. Submitting a strong GMAT/GRE score could strengthen your file if you are concerned about other areas of your application.
